A new water treatment plant at Martock, Somerset, provided the perfect opportunity for Wessex Water to realise the benefits of using TekSpan for pipe supports.

With a mix of DN100 / 150 / 200 / 250 ductile iron pipes on site, the TekSpan range allowed Wessex to use the 80mm profile in single-post format along with the versatile new U-bolt bracket. Instead of needing to select exactly the right number of brackets per pipe, one U-bolt bracket covered all the sizes on the plant.

And when it came to supporting the pipes on the flange, the TekSpan flange brackets again proved a huge help, enabling support for both DN80 and DN100 pipe sizes on the smaller bracket, and DN150 to DN300 on the larger bracket.

Even DN450 pipes were no problem, by utilising the large 60380 bracket which handles pipes from DN300 to DN450. Pipes of this size are usually best supported by a horizontal goalpost / rugby-post frame design, which the 60380 bracket caters for perfectly.

The results are a future-proofed pipe support system which allows for adjustment and repurposing of the supports in future should it be required; cost-effective, quick to install and highly economical.
