DuPont Water Solutions

Maximize resources with wastewater and other municipal water treatments

DuPont Water Solutions technologies are used to purify more than 50 million gallons of water every minute. Since playing a pivotal role in the creation of the first generation of synthetic membranes for water and wastewater treatment in the 1960s, DuPont has continued to be a key innovator in water technologies and helped pioneer new applications, including MBR and MABR.

With an expansive portfolio of membranes and resins, DuPont works with customers to design and deliver best-fit multi-tech solutions to tackle complex water treatment challenges, realizing its vision of a water-optimized world. DuPont experts are available to support projects at every stage, aiding their evolution from blueprints to established operations; with the aim that the same engineer who assisted with design is also present to oversee the installation process.

DuPont’s one-of-a-kind Global Water Technology Center (GWTC) offers immediate access to industrial scale testing environments, helping accelerate innovations to market while providing customers with the assurance that DuPont products will deliver as expected when deployed in the real world. The GWTC also promotes collaboration with customers and the development of bespoke solutions; over 150 customer projects are in the pipeline at the GWTC each year, in addition to internal projects.

MBR Technology and Applications

◆ DuPont™ MemPulse™ MBR system

◆ DuPont™ MemCor™ modules

Combining activated sludge treatment with membrane filtration, the DuPont™ MemPulse™ MBR system offers a unique wastewater treatment process that can achieve greater effluent quality at a reduced life-cycle cost. Stability of the membrane environment provides operational flexibility and reduces maintenance requirements.

A dedicated team for MBR applications was established in 1995 to advance the development of DuPont™ MEMCOR® membranes for MBR applications. This led to a series of industry-first innovations that improved the reliability and economics of MBR systems and quickly became industry standards.
