Advance TRS Annual Charity Golf Day Raises Approximately £20,000 for Little Roo’s and Railway Children
Advance TRS is proud to announce that its 6th Annual Charity Golf Day, held at Goodwood Golf Course, has raised approximately £20,000 in support of two incredible causes: Little Roo’s Foundation and Railway Children.
The event brought together clients, partners, colleagues, and industry friends from across the rail, infrastructure and built environment sectors for a day of golf, networking and fundraising. The latest total builds on the success of previous events, which have now generated more than £100,000 for charitable causes over the past five years.
Funds were raised through team entries, competition entries, donations, auctions and additional fundraising activities throughout the day and evening. The money will help both charities continue their vital work supporting vulnerable children and families both in neonatal care and within the railway community.

Supporting Little Roo’s And Railway Children
Little Roo’s supports premature and sick newborn babies receiving neonatal care at St Peter’s Hospital, as well as their families, by helping to fund vital specialist equipment, improvements to care and practical support during an extremely difficult time. The funds raised through the Golf Day will contribute to services that make a meaningful difference for babies, parents and neonatal teams.
Railway Children works in the UK, India and East Africa to protect vulnerable young people who are at risk around transport networks. Through outreach, safeguarding, education and long-term support, the charity helps children move away from danger and towards safer, more stable futures. Support from the event will help the charity continue reaching young people when and where they need it most.
Reflecting on his personal connection to both charities, Andy Ridout said:
“Little Roo’s is a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. My daughter was born at just 24 weeks and received the specialist care and support that Little Roo’s helps make possible. She is now eight years old, healthy, happy and thriving at school.”
“As a family, we will never forget the people who supported us through such a difficult and uncertain time, and it means so much to be able to give something back. “
“I have also been proud to support Railway Children over many years through challenges including trekking to Everest Base Camp, climbing Kilimanjaro, completing Ironman events and running marathons. Visiting the charity’s vital projects both here in the UK and overseas has shown me first-hand the difference its teams make for children facing danger and uncertainty.”
“That personal connection to both charities made this year’s event especially meaningful, and I am deeply grateful to everyone whose generosity will help them continue their life-changing work.”

Thank You To Our Headline Sponsor
Turner & Townsend returned as Headline Sponsor for the 2026 event, continuing a valued year-on-year partnership that has helped the Golf Day grow in reach and fundraising impact. We would like to thank the Turner & Townsend team for once again getting behind the event and supporting this year’s fundraising.

Keynote Speaker
Planned guest speaker Mark Wild OBE was unable to attend because he was paying his respects at the funeral of Danny O’Connell MIET, a highly respected leader in the UK rail industry who sadly passed away in August. Advance TRS’s thoughts remain with his family, friends and colleagues.
Advance TRS was especially grateful to Jimmy Foster for stepping in at short notice to address guests and help make the day a success. Jimmy enjoyed a distinguished 20-year professional football career, representing clubs including Millwall, Liverpool, Arsenal and Portsmouth. In addition to giving his time, he generously donated two exceptional items of Arsenal memorabilia to the charity auction.
Speaking at the event, Andy Ridout, Group Managing Director at Advance TRS, said:
“It was fantastic to welcome so many of our clients, partners and friends back to the Advance TRS Executive Charity Golf Day. I would like to thank Turner & Townsend, our Headline Sponsor, for their continued support, and Jimmy Foster for stepping in at short notice, sharing his time with our guests and generously supporting the auction.”
“Together, we raised approximately £20,000 for Railway Children and Little Roo’s, building on the substantial total generated by the event over the previous five years. This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and bid in the auction. Both charities do remarkable work, and every contribution will help make a meaningful difference to vulnerable children, babies and their families.”

Introducing Advance Infrastructure Partners
The Golf Day also gave us the opportunity to introduce guests to Advance Infrastructure Partners (AIP), the new name for Advance TRS Management Consultancy.
During the event, Jonathan Edwards spoke about Advance Infrastructure Partners (AIP) and the next stage for the business. AIP is a senior-led delivery and consulting partner created to improve the delivery and lasting legacy of complex infrastructure programmes.
Working alongside clients across rail, aviation, water and major projects, AIP brings the senior capacity, experience and independence needed to set clear direction, strengthen decision-making and help clients get the best from consultants and contractors. The business works as an extension of each client’s team, assembling senior leaders around key challenges to help retain control, resolve difficult issues and accelerate decisions.
AIP remains part of Advance TRS, with the same people, relationships and commitment at the heart of the business. Jonathan Edwards leads AIP as Managing Partner, working with Partners James Bowry and Andy Ridout. The launch marks a new name and continued ambition, with the same focus on supporting clients and the infrastructure they deliver.

Looking Ahead
The Golf Day has become an important date in the Advance TRS calendar, giving us the chance to bring together clients, partners, colleagues and friends while raising money for charities that are close to us.
Thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, donated, bid in the auction or supported the event. Raising approximately £20,000 would not have been possible without everyone getting involved.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back again next year and continuing to build on what the Golf Day has raised over the past six years.
