Williamsgate Water Treatment Works - Stainless Steel Pipework

Background

This pipework installation formed an essential part of the treatment process, ensuring the reliable flow and distribution of water through the filtration systems. The project required meticulous coordination from design through to final commissioning to maintain the site’s strict performance and quality requirements.

Objectives

  • Deliver a complete end-to-end pipework solution from design through to commissioning
  • Ensure all pipework was manufactured to meet precise flow, pressure, and material specifications
  • Achieve seamless integration with existing plant infrastructure within the RGF Building
  • Guarantee system integrity and performance through comprehensive testing and inspection
  • Support the client’s objective of maintaining efficient and safe water distribution

Scope of Works

  • JK Fabrications’ responsibilities included:
  • Detailed design of all pipework layouts, ensuring compatibility with site flow requirements and materials
  • Precision manufacturing of pipe sections in accordance with stringent industry standards and project specifications
  • Delivery and offloading of fabricated components to the Williamsgate WTW site
  • Installation of the new pipework systems within the RGF Building by experienced site personnel
  • Testing and verification, including pressure and flow assessments, to confirm the performance and reliability of all installed systems
  • All materials were carefully selected for durability, corrosion resistance, and long-term operational reliability in a water treatment environment.

Project Challenges

The Williamsgate WTW project demanded precise coordination between design, fabrication, and installation teams to meet tight tolerances and maintain system alignment within a confined plant area.

Working within an active treatment facility required strict safety management and careful planning to ensure that operations continued uninterrupted.

JK Fabrications’ Health & Safety team developed detailed risk assessments and method statements to ensure that all on-site activities were conducted safely and efficiently.

Outcome

JK Fabrications successfully delivered a high-quality, fully tested pipework system within the Williamsgate WTW RGF Building.

All systems underwent comprehensive pressure and flow testing to verify performance and integrity prior to handover.
