Civils Site Manager
Stonbury are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to join our Delivery Team. In this role, you will oversee and manage sites across both clean and wastewater sites for Yorkshire Water.

What you’ll be doing …
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities related to civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed in line with all company and client standards.
- Utilise specialist civils experience and capability to site manage the delivery of complex civils schemes between the value of £100k-£5m.
- Working in a reactive environment, assist the Civils Project Manager to fulfil client requirements in a multi-site capacity from pre-construction to post-construction in line with all relevant policies, procedures, and best working practices.
- Conduct site audits, identifying and escalating issues a necessary, and close out issues and actions in a proactive manner.
- Review and sign on to site files, including but not limited to the project programme, RAMS, CPPs, and quality documentation.
- Act as temporary works supervisor as and when required.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety bulletins, etc, ensuring all personnel receive necessary and relevant information consistently throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure site staff follow health, safety, and quality policies and process. Check adherence and rectify issues immediately, while ensuring all records are maintained.
- Assist the Civils Project Manager to collate, check, and approve time sheet and measurement submissions to ensure accurate and timely submission.
- Liaise with project management and commercial team members to assist in the formulation of CEs and measures as required.
- Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and health and safety compliance.
- Support with the purchase of materials and equipment.
Who we’re looking for …
- Proven experience managing civils construction sites.
- Hold an SMSTS certificate.
- Experience in requesting permits, conducting site inductions, and overseeing subcontractor management.
- Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Experience with temporary works management, and hold Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
- Experience in reviewing and amending RAMS.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, health and safety regulations, and CDM Regulations.
- Physically fit to enter confined spaces and access works on a construction site.
- Ability to identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work.
- Experience in supervising and coordinating subcontractors.
- Skilled in operating safely in high-risk environments.
- Full UK driving licence.

What you’ll be doing …
You will be responsible for delivering civils projects to the agreed programme, budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Utilise specialist civils experience and capability to project manage the delivery of complex civils schemes between the value of £100k-£5m.
- Plan effectively from pre-construction to post-construction in line with all relevant policies, procedures, and best working practices.
- Ensure the role in the capacity of temporary works coordinator is fulfilled adequately and in line with training.
- Produce site files, including but not limited to the project programme, RAMS, CPPs, and quality documentation.
- Accept the role of principle contractor on behalf of the company, and if required, ensure the correct measures are in place for suitable management of sub- contractors.
- Liaise with Civils Site Managers and Supervisors to take accountability for accurate and timely submission of completed works and time sheets for the team.
- Ensure an understanding of the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and the allocated responsibilities under the Health and Safety At Work Act including those under the CDM Regulations 2015.
- Hold responsibility and accountability for project performance including finance, health and safety, and quality.
Who we’re looking for …
- Experience in project managing and delivering civils projects.
- Possess a higher-level construction management qualification, or civil engineering degree.
- Experience in managing pre-construction civils processes, creating a scope of works, supporting on tenders and producing programs.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, CDM regulations and Regulations.
- Experience with temporary works management.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Experience in writing RAMS and CPPs.
- Ability to identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work.
- Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
