Apprentice Site Engineer (45)

JN Bentley is offering the opportunity for apprentices in the Lancashire area. You will gain valuable experience and develop key skills that will help you to pursue a career within the civil engineering industry, working predominantly within clean/wastewater

Apprenticeships at JN Bentley are hands-on from day one; with a dedicated mentor to support your development throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to work out on site and develop key skills in civil engineering and construction operations.

What you’ll do

  • Design, construct and maintenance of infrastructure
  • You’ll gain experience of working on live construction projects
  • You will work alongside the Site Manager and Site Engineer understanding full site operations, from site set up, construction, installation and handover
  • Learn how to set out structures, roads, pipework and ducting above and below ground
  • Learn how to control line and levels to ensure these are set out as per the design drawings using a variety of techniques
  • Keep accurate records for as built data and feed this information back into the BIM model
  • Carry out and record the quality assurance requirements on the contract
  • Work within the team to plan and deliver the works including selecting the correct plant and ordering materials
  • Work with the site team to carry out health, safety and environmental monitoring in line with the BMS (Business management systems)

Candidate Specification

  • 5 GCSE grades A-C (9-4), must include English and Maths
  • 1 or 2 A levels in a relevant subject I.e. Maths or science
  • A valid driving license is essential
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across your operational region
