Project Description / Main Operations

This project was carried out for Laing O’Rourke on the major development works in Liverpool city centre.

V J Donegan & Co Ltd installed over 400 linear metres of 8m long Larsen steel sheet piles to form a 200m long, 6m wide, 6m deep trench. Inside the trench a concrete slab was poured to act as a working platform during the steel fixing, formwork erection and casting of a 3m x 3m in-situ reinforced concrete culvert.

Scope and method:

  • Installation of over 400 linear metres of 8m long Larsen steel sheet piles, forming a 200m long, 6m wide, 6m deep trench.
  • Pouring of a concrete slab within the trench to act as a working platform.
  • Steel fixing, formwork erection and casting of a 3m x 3m in-situ reinforced concrete culvert.
  • Over 600m of foul water open-cut drainage.
  • A 4.50m internal diameter CSO chamber.
  • A 1500mm internal diameter pipejack.
