Project Description / Main Operations

V J Donegan & Co Ltd were appointed as main contractor on this United Utilities project. When completed, the scheme would take a total of 18 houses in the local area off the flood register.

Scope and method:

Construction of a new 6.00m diameter shaft acting as a foul sewage detention tank and pumping station.
Construction of a 4.00m diameter CSO chamber incorporating a powered screen.
Approx. 165m of 525mm and 450mm on-line sewer replacement, both in the residential roads and from the new CSO through an adjacent field to an outfall into a local watercourse.
Demolition of the existing pumping station and CSO once the new system was operational.
Laying of a permanent grass paving system for HGV access across the entrance and around the new underground detention tank.
