Project Description / Main Operations

This project was undertaken direct for United Utilities to take 4 local properties off the flood register.

To prevent disruption to local residents and the primary school during construction, the working area was kept to a minimum as the works progressed up Tennyson Avenue.

Scope and method:

  • Construction of a 10.30m shaft approx. 6m deep, acting as a surface water detention tank within the local golf course.
  • Upsizing of approx. 550m of both surface and foul water sewers, ranging from 225mm up to 1200mm diameter, constructed online down small residential roads.
  • 450mm diameter augerbore approx. 30m in length beneath the entrance to the golf course club house, to reduce disruption.
