Throughout Northern Ireland there are approximately 795,000 domestic, agricultural, commercial and business properties connected to the public water supply and 660,000 connected to the public sewerage system.
The company supplies 619 million litres of water every day and treats 134 million cubic metres of wastewater each year. The company operates 40 impounding reservoirs, 44 major water treatment works (65 in total), 490 service reservoirs, 287 water pumping stations and 26,500 km of water mains. The company also owns and operates 1,194 wastewater pumping stations, 14,500 km of sewers and 1,124 wastewater treatment works.
