Tendering Engineer – Stormwater

Demand for our products continues to grow, so we are expanding the Tendering team in our Cornwall, Wolverhampton and Barnsley offices (all with hybrid working Monday and Friday). You will have engineering project experience, commercial finance experience or management accountant experience and the aptitude to cost and price projects for implementation across the UK and Europe. Experienced Mechanical or Civil Tendering Engineers play a key part in our growth plans by managing the preparation of tenders for NEC3/ NEC4 subcontracts typically ranging from £0.5m to £1m, sometimes up to £10m.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver major projects for sustainable water treatment solutions which facilitate healthy rivers, seas and drinking water provision.
  • Managing a portfolio of tendering and estimating of water and wastewater treatment projects from initial enquiry through cost and price development to tender submissions and order placement to meet customer tender deadlines.
  • Assist in establishing a solution to the client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies with the Engineering, Projects and Supply Chain team
  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, including materials, quantities, labour and time
  • Develop a sound working knowledge of the company’s engineering and technology (training will be provided)
  • Compiling tender documentation for submission to client, submitting offers to client document portal (i.e. Bravo, CEMAR, a-site, Ariba etc.)

Who we are looking for:

  • Experience of water/utility engineering, manufacturing, process engineering, (desirable)
  • Experience of MS Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems (desirable)
  • Experience of Europe/global customer contracts, (desirable)

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to communicate concisely, assertively and effectively with customers and internal Board of Directors.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player, role requires stakeholder management in a collaborative working environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with integrity.
