AUMA Actuators Limited Celebrates Service Level Agreement 10 Year Anniversary with Anglian Water
AUMA Actuators Limited is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Anglian Water, a partnership that has delivered measurable operational benefits through the rapid supply, repair and refurbishment of electric actuators across the water and wastewater network.
Introduced to streamline asset replacement and minimise operational downtime, the SLA provides Anglian Water technicians with a structured, repeatable process for actuator replacement. From initial contact through to dispatch, each case is logged and managed by AUMA, ensuring full traceability and technical accuracy. Once actuator and drive nut details are confirmed, replacement units are dispatched to site within an average of 72 hours using dedicated SLA recyclable wooden crates.
The agreement has enabled the replacement, repair or refurbishment of electric actuators, significantly reducing asset downtime, vehicle movements and site disruption. The use of pre-defined procedures and standardised documentation has improved efficiency for field engineers and asset management teams, while supporting Anglian Water’s wider safety and environmental objectives.
Paul Hopkins, Managing Director, AUMA Actuators Limited says:
“This Service Level Agreement was designed around the realities of operating critical water assets, such as speed, accuracy and safety. Ten years on, the fact that more than 1,500 actuators have been replaced or refurbished within an average 72-hour timeframe shows how a well-structured partnership can deliver real operational value for water engineers on the ground.”
A key contributor to the success of the SLA has been AUMA’s modular actuator design. Modular construction allows actuators to be adapted to site-specific requirements while maintaining standardisation across installations. This approach simplifies maintenance, reduces intervention time and supports fast-track delivery, all critical factors in live operational environments.
The SLA has also evolved to reflect improvements in logistics and sustainability. Dedicated wooden SLA crates have improved handling, reduced waste and supported safer site practices. The agreement continues to provide Anglian Water with a flexible and responsive solution that aligns with current AMP objectives and provides a future-ready platform for smart network development.
Paul Hopkins concludes:
“As the water industry faces increasing pressure to improve resilience, efficiency and safety, the long-standing collaboration between AUMA Actuators Limited and Anglian Water demonstrates the value of structured service partnerships built around engineering practicality and operational performance.”
