Eliquo Hydrok and Mecana AG agree long-term contract extension

The exclusive partnership, which has proven to be a real success story in recent years, will continue into AMP9 (2030 onwards).

The close cooperation between Mecana AG, a leading Swiss company in the field of filtration technology, and the British water treatment specialist Eliquo Hydrok has achieved significant milestones in recent years. Together, the partners have successfully established the innovative PCMF (Pile Cloth Media Filtration) technology with hundreds of successful installations across the UK and Europe, setting new standards in municipal wastewater treatment. The partnership combines Mecana’s pile cloth media filters into a factory built modular packaged solution that is designed and manufactured by Eliquo Hydrok at their facility in Cornwall, UK.

Guido Schmucki, CEO of Mecana AG, said:

“The collaboration with Eliquo Hydrok is of central importance to Mecana AG – both strategically and operationally. The strength of our partnership has already taken us a long way – and will continue to carry us forward in the future. We greatly appreciate Eliquo Hydrok’s reliability, technical expertise, and market knowledge, and we look forward to continuing this success story together.”

Peter Wroe, Managing Director of Eliquo Hydrok, said:

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with Mecana built on the long-term stable ownership and financial assurance of Mecana and Eliquo Hydrok delivered by experienced management, technical and servicing teams.”

Matt Down, Managing Director of Eliquo Hydrok, said:

“Our partnership with Mecana delivers the market leading PCMF technology to the UK municipal water sector and this extension of our contract demonstrates our joint commitment to improving the quality of our waters in the UK. We have already supplied this solution to hundreds of wastewater treatment sites throughout the UK and Ireland for tertiary treatment and our partnership is set up to deliver our customer’s requirements for AMP8 and beyond, as well as providing an increasing number of PCMF solutions for clean water, storm water and primary treatment.”

The contract extension not only sends a strong signal for the continuity of the business relationship – it is also a clear sign response to the demand from municipal water companies across the UK to meet their regulatory needs for phosphorous removal with a trusted, reliable off-site modular solution for smooth installation on-site.

Eliquo Hydrok and Mecana AG remain reliable partners on the path to more sustainable and efficient water management.
