ELIQUO HYDROK Wins Circular Economy Award at the British Renewable Energy Awards 2026
ELIQUO HYDROK's Kevin Mooney (Business Development Manager for Bioresource Technologies) & Kevin Sheeran (Biosolids Technologist) with the British Renewable Energy Award for Circular Economy
ELIQUO HYDROK is proud to announce that it has won the Circular Economy Award at the British Renewable Energy Awards 2026 for its ELOVAC® technology.
The award recognises innovative solutions that deliver measurable environmental benefits through resource recovery and circular economy thinking. ELOVAC® is designed to recover value from sludge treatment in practical, measurable ways — helping AD operators capture methane that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere, reduce fugitive emissions, improve process performance and recover useful resources.
In addition to methane capture, ELOVAC® enables the recovery of struvite crystals, helping to prevent scaling, improve plant efficiency and reduce maintenance downtime. The recovered struvite is also in a bioavailable form suitable for use as a fertiliser. By improving sludge dewaterability, ELOVAC® can also reduce polymer demand and support a more efficient overall treatment process.
This national recognition reflects ELIQUO HYDROK’s commitment to developing high-quality, practical technologies that help our customers reduce emissions, recover value from waste streams and operate more sustainably. It also reinforces the company’s focus on delivering solutions that combine environmental performance with operational efficiency and long-term value.
William Mackveley, Sales & Business Development Director at ELIQUO HYDROK, said:
“Winning the Circular Economy Award is fantastic recognition for the innovation, expertise and dedication of our team. ELOVAC® demonstrates how sludge treatment can go beyond compliance to unlock measurable environmental and operational benefits. For both municipal water and energy-from-waste operators, the challenge is to find solutions that are not only effective today, but robust, efficient and valuable over the long term. That is exactly where ELOVAC® is designed to deliver. We are proud to support our customers with high-quality technologies that recover value, improve performance and help them plan confidently for the future.”
At ELIQUO HYDROK, we are committed to working in partnership with our customers to deliver robust, high-performing treatment solutions that provide lasting value. Awards such as this underline the strength of our expertise, the quality of our technologies and our ambition to be a trusted long-term partner to the water and energy-from-waste sectors.

Filtration Technologist
Apply NowPurpose of the role:
To grow our filtration product offering by owning the technical development, validation and application expansion of the Mecana PCMF portfolio, while providing high-quality technical support to tenders and customer discussions.
PCMF is a strategic product for the business. Historically, most applications have been in tertiary wastewater treatment, but we see significant opportunity to validate and scale performance in broader and emerging applications.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the technical development lifecycle for PCMF: concept → requirements → design input → prototype/testing → validation → launch support.
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of trials/pilots across a range of applications, including tertiary wastewater treatment and targeted expansion into:
- Provide technically robust input into bids and proposals, including sizing, selection, application suitability, assumptions and constraints.
- Keep current with competitor offerings, relevant standards, customer requirements and emerging best practice in filtration and advanced treatment.
- Lead and/or support technical discussions with customers, consultants and contractors: application design, performance expectations, constraints, integration, commissioning and operational considerations.
- Work with Quality and Health, Safety & Environment colleagues to ensure products and documentation meet relevant standards and expectations (including safe installation, safe operation, and clear limitations).
Who we are looking for:
Essential
- Strong technical foundation (engineering, environmental, mechanical, process, or similar) with practical product/application experience.
- Demonstrable experience improving or developing engineered products (requirements, testing, validation, documentation).
- Hands-on experience planning and executing trials/pilots (experimental design, sampling regimes, data analysis, technical reporting).
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences (customers and internal teams).
- Strong analytical approach: assumptions, calculations, evidence-based recommendations.
- Comfortable working across functions (sales, manufacturing, quality, supply chain) and driving work through influence.
- Willingness to travel and work on operational sites, with a practical and safe approach to field-based work.
Desirable
- Experience in filtration processes in wastewater, potable water, storm water, or industrial treatment (e.g. tertiary filtration, solids removal, adsorption-support processes).
- Familiarity with quaternary treatment concepts and interfaces.
- Experience building practical tools for selection/sizing and standardising technical outputs.
- Exposure to certification/assurance routes and product compliance environments.
