Eliquo Hydrok Ltd

Eliquo Hydrok supports Kernow Conservation CIC to help protect Cornwall’s natural environment

Water Vole

Eliquo Hydrok is supporting Kernow Conservation CIC through sponsorship, backing practical conservation work to restore biodiversity and protect Cornwall’s natural environment.

The Cornwall-based water and wastewater engineering business is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and is sponsoring Kernow Conservation as part of its wider commitment to supporting the communities and environment around its operations, now and into the future.

Kernow Conservation is a community interest company working with landowners, conservation organisations, and local businesses to restore wildlife and biodiversity across Cornwall. Its work to date includes releasing around 600 water voles, supporting beaver projects, building osprey nesting platforms and pine marten den boxes.

For Eliquo Hydrok, supporting this work aligns closely with its purpose: developing and delivering technology that helps the water industry protect rivers and seas and ensure clean water remains a given.

Matt Down, Managing Director and C.O.O at Eliquo Hydrok, said:

“The work Kernow Conservation is doing in Cornwall has a clear connection with what we do every day at Eliquo Hydrok. Protecting our rivers and seas isn’t only about the technology we design and build. It’s also about the environment that our technology is there to protect.

We’re proud to support Kernow Conservation and the practical work it is carrying out across Cornwall. It’s a local organisation making a tangible difference, and we’re pleased to play a small part in helping that work continue.”

Kernow Conservation’s projects are focused on practical, evidence-led conservation, working with landowners and partners to restore habitats and support the recovery of native species. Monitoring species is a key part of the work, including eDNA monitoring – using water samples to test for environmental DNA, e.g. to track the dispersion of the water voles released so far.

David Carrier, Ecologist & Director at Kernow Conservation, said:

“We are delighted and very appreciative to have Eliquo Hydrok’s generous support, especially given their long-standing service to improving water quality in Cornwall. We look forward to working together in the coming months on our projects.”

The sponsorship forms part of Eliquo Hydrok’s ongoing commitment to supporting its local community while contributing to the wider goal of protecting the environment for future generations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own the technical development lifecycle for PCMF: concept → requirements → design input → prototype/testing → validation → launch support.

Desirable

  • Experience in filtration processes in wastewater, potable water, storm water, or industrial treatment (e.g. tertiary filtration, solids removal, adsorption-support processes).
  • Familiarity with quaternary treatment concepts and interfaces.
  • Experience building practical tools for selection/sizing and standardising technical outputs.
  • Exposure to certification/assurance routes and product compliance environments.
